Hi, I’m Hameed

I teach driving because I love driving.

I’m Hameed Maroof, owner of Safe Gear Driving School in Richmond Hill. I’ve been driving for over 30 years, manual and automatic, on roads in several countries. What I’ve learned is simple: confident drivers aren’t born, they’re taught with patience.

Most of my students come to me nervous. Teens getting behind the wheel for the first time. Newcomers who drove for years back home and now need to learn the Ontario way. Adults who put it off for too long. Students with ADHD who need a teacher who stays calm and keeps things clear. I meet you where you are, explain the why behind every move, and tell you honestly what’s going well and what needs work.

For parents: before test day, your teen will drive on highways, in busy traffic and in real weather. If you’d like updates, I’ll let you know how they’re doing every few lessons.

I teach the MTO-approved BDE course, G2 and G road test prep, private lessons and stick shift. Free pick-up and drop-off across Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, Aurora and Newmarket (stick shift lessons start from our location). Lessons in English, Dari/Farsi, Pashto and Urdu/Hindi.

Drive safe, save lives.
– Hameed

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the best experience with Hameed from Safe Gear Driving School. I am going to be 30 next year and have never been comfortable driving despite getting lessons from multiple other instructors. With Hameed's help, I passed my G2 test today and have become a way more confident driver. Hameed is patient, informative, and gives great constructive feedback. You can tell he genuinely wants you to succeed and be a great & safe driver. He is willing to answer any and all questions and go over things multiple times until you understand. He taught me various reference points to use for things like parallel parking, reverse parking, and 3 point turns, which was a great help. He is also incredibly flexible with times and availability as well which was amazing. Truly a great teacher!! I highly recommend.
